The GIZ team, led by Component Manager Ms. Laetitia Erny, was warmly received by Dr. Gameli Kewuribe Hoedoafia, Executive Secretary of the IMCC. The meeting focussed on the development of the National Decentralisation Policy and Strategy (2025-2029)
After fruitful deliberations, Dr. Hoedoafia expressed strong confidence that the upcoming policy would be both inclusive and forward-looking. He underscored the IMCC’s commitment to ensuring that the new Policy reflects a shared national vision and draws on broad stakeholder engagement — including local and central government institutions, Civil Society Organisations, and Development Partners.
At the meeting, GIZ pledged to support aspects of the policy formulation process, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to decentralisation and local governance reforms in Ghana.
The IMCC remains dedicated to ensuring that Ghana achieves the full extent of the constitutional imperative of decentralisation by devolution and benefits
