Text Box:  The Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCC) has convened a technical working session to review technical proposals submitted by thematic teams and the general public towards the formulation of strategies for the National Decentralisation Policy and a National Dialogue on decentralised and responsive governance.

The session took place on Friday, 16th May 2025, at the Conference Room of the District Assemblies Common Fund. The meeting was chaired by the Executive Secretary of the IMCC, Dr. Gameli Kewuribe Hoedoafia, and brought together key experts led by Dr. Esther Ofei Aboagye.

Each team delivered a presentation on key recommendations and proposed strategic actions, as well as cross-cutting issues such as Climate Change and Environmental Management, Gender, Disability and Social Inclusion, Technology and Innovation, Mindset and Change Management, 24-Hour Economy, and Security and Safety.

Text Box:  Dr. Esther Ofei Aboagye commended the team for the impressive work done and added that the IMCC has received several position papers from its call for proposals, which will all be analysed to enhance the formulation of the policy and strategy as well as serve as the basis for discussions at the National Dialogue on Decentralisation.

Concluding the session, Dr. Hoedoafia expressed appreciation to the team of experts and the general public for the wealth of proposals they brought on board. In the coming weeks, the team will embark on a nationwide stakeholder consultation to elicit views of Ghanaians within the regions and the districts to finalise the national policy.
